City Springs Elementary/Middle School is a public charter school located in Baltimore’s Perkins Homes neighborhood and operated by the Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP). It is a conversion charter school, which means it was an already-existing Baltimore City Public School that is now operated by BCP to bring innovative and research-based curriculum and other programs to enhance the school.

A successful Community School, with the leadership of one of Child First’s on-site Community School Coordinators, makes the school an integral part of the community.

Specifically, Community School Coordinators focus on implementing partnerships and strategies to:

Increase school attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism
Improve the school ambiance, by creating a welcoming environment where families feel known and valued
Reduce school suspensions and repeat suspensions
Increase family engagement and community volunteerism in activities that support the school and student success
