After-school programming remains the core component of Child First’s work. The program serves students in grades K–8 and provides daily snack and supper. It operates four days per week, offering three hours of programming beyond the school day, including one hour of uninterrupted literacy and/or math instruction led by certified in-house teachers, followed by one hour of enrichment delivered by community artists in ceramics, painting, music, drama, photography, and more. Students also participate in three field trips per year, academic, cultural, college, and recreational, and have the opportunity to engage in an intramural sports league featuring flag football, basketball, track, and more.
