Liberty Elementary School’s mission is to provide a high-quality education program that accelerates student achievement. The school strives to support the social and emotional well-being of each student within our safe, caring school community.

A successful Community School, with the leadership of one of Child First’s on-site Community School Coordinators, makes the school an integral part of the community.

Specifically, Community School Coordinators focus on implementing partnerships and strategies to:

  • Increase school attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism
  • Improve the school ambiance, by creating a welcoming environment where families feel known and valued
  • Reduce school suspensions and repeat suspensions
  • Increase family engagement and community volunteerism in activities that support the school and student success

High Expectations - In partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools Office of Partnerships, Communications & Community Engagement, CFA worked with William H. Lemmel and Garrison Middle School students to create a school climate and culture that supports relationships of trust with students and their parents and facilitates intervention strategies.

CFA began CFA Art Core, an initiative that placed visual and performing community artists at each afterschool site to facilitate high-quality arts instruction.
